Why are we a Specialist school?

Enterprise, innovation, creativity and achievement are the cornerstone of all aspects of school life. We use our specialism to prepare our pupils for the world of tomorrow. Through enterprise education we can create opportunities to work with businesses, promote vocational courses and provide exciting business and enterprise activities; we aim to develop the right attitudes and values required by the world of work. We can provide greater opportunities for our wider community including parents, and through Business and Enterprise we provide state of the art facilities for the whole community to access.

At Beacon Hill High School enterprise is innovation, creativity, risk-management, and having a 'can-do' attitude and the drive to make ideas happen.

Enterprise is about having ideas and doing something about them; taking advantage of what might be, rather than accepting what will be. It is using initiative to make things happen - even when life is difficult and uncertain.

Beacon Hill is a school for the future. We can see the vision for the new Blackpool and how we will be able to play our part.

We recognise the skills that our pupils will need to live and work in the Blackpool of the 21st Century. Small to medium businesses will need employees with good comminication skills, ICT skills and the knowledge of how businesses operate so that they can make a significant contribution.
